Aim: To make students understand the meaning of democracy and rule of law.

General Objectives:
To enable students understand the meaning and principles of democracy and the rule of law.
To equip students with the knowledge of how these concepts relate to each other and to citizenship.
To help students recognize the importance of democracy and the rule of law in a democratic society.
Specific Learning Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Define democracy and the rule of law in their own words.
- Explain the core principles of the rule of law (e.g., supremacy of the law, equality before the law).
- Describe how democracy and the rule of law are interconnected and mutually reinforcing.
- Discuss at least two ways democracy and the rule of law protect citizens' fundamental human rights.
